Welcome to an overview of my ninth month blogging! This month we finally saw some growth regarding Google and other search consoles which is super exciting. In case this is your first update, in these kinds of posts I reveal all the stats and progress of Financial Pupil and also what I’ve been up to this past month. I do this for two reasons:

  1. When I first started out, I was really curious how other blogs were performing but never really found anyone who shared their stats.
  2. This keeps me motivated and accountable for my blog’s progress.

This post will run through a recap of what I’ve been up to this past month, all the new posts I’ve published, and of course, all my stats. Let’s dive right in!

Recap

This last month has been pretty hectic, to say the least. In the month of August, I…

  • Played in my final summer golf tounaments
  • Packed up all my stuff from home
  • Said my goodbyes to my friends and family back at home
  • Left Canada and moved into Harvard
  • Moved all my stuff into my dorm and officially started college life

Somehow, throughout all of this, I still managed to publish twice a week while doing some outreach for guest posts and other blog growth opportunities. For that, I am extremely grateful.

Even though this month’s overall stats aren’t as good as last month, I am almost more excited about this month because I finally experienced growth in search engine views. For most blogs, their main source of traffic comes from source engines like Google or Yahoo, so the fact that I have seen some growth in the past month is extremely uplifting.

New Blogs Published in my Ninth Month Blogging

Like I said, this month I stuck with publishing twice a week. I didn’t do too much updating of old posts, but I did syndicate some other content from around the web. Here are all the posts published in the month of August:

I am extremely happy with this cadence of posts published. For my ninth month blogging, 17 posts are pretty good I’d say…

Stats

The moment you’ve all been waiting for… the stats for Financial Pupil. Unlike last month, almost ALL my traffic from this month came from organic search traffic. In fact, there were many days when that was my ONLY source of traffic. Here are Financial Pupil’s metrics from August 1 to August 31, 2021:

  • Visitors: 379

My top sources of traffic were:

  • Search Engines
  • Facebook
  • Twitter

The crazy thing is… my search engine traffic is 192 this month! That’s up a ton from 88 last month. I basically had no traffic other than search engine traffic for August. For the coming months though, I will start to refocus on other social media outlets so as not to concentrate my traffic too heavily… still, this growth is extremely motivating to see.

Ninth Month Blogging: Thank You!

Thank you for following along with my journey and for reading this blog. You as the reader are really what keeps Financial Pupil alive and thriving. Don’t ever hesitate to reach out to me for guest post opportunities (both on the site and to have me write something) or just to connect! Always happy to hear from you.

Plans for September include continuing to publish twice a week, writing a couple guest posts to make some spare change (living that broke college student life now), and revamping some of my social platforms. That’s all I have for you this month… happy wealth building!
