My Second Month of Blogging: Crazy Spikes, TikTok, and More!

news typewritten on white paper

Woah, January went by fast! It felt like New Years’ was just yesterday, yet looking back and thinking about it, January was an incredibly eventful month. From the Capitol riot to Gamestop, this month has been full of surprises. Similarly, my blog has also been taking on new exciting avenues! Let’s get right into the recap of my second full month of blogging!

Recap

For the most part, January was pretty mild. I kept on pushing out 2 posts per week and trying to reach out to other blogs for guest posts. Something new and exciting that I did tackle was TikTok! I officially kicked off the Financial Pupil TikTok and have been trying to publish quality content on the platform ever since. So far, I have around 1000 followers, so feel free to drop by and take a look!

New Blogs Published

This month I stuck to my 2 posts per week goal and published a total of 8 blog posts! It’s been getting busy as work has started to pile up and I’ve been trying to get back into my competitive golfing routine. Nevertheless, here are all of January’s posts!

Stats

January’s stats were actually considerably better than December. Progress! Although I do have to chalk up a lot of that to one special mention that I was lucky enough to land (more on that later.) Here are the metrics of my blog from January 1, 2021 to January 31, 2021:

  • Visitors: 633

Compared to December, January’s stats had a HUGE jump… Like over 30% jump in all three metrics.

The top sources of The Financial Pupil’s traffic came from:

  1. Facebook
  2. Instagram
  3. Search Engines
  4. Personal Finance Blogs

Direct traffic was up a lot this month, but other than that most numbers remained the same. The reason Facebook is now higher than Instagram is because of a mention I got which pushed LOTS of people to view The Financial Pupil.

New Mentions:

That last mention (Personal Finance Blogs) really kicked up my numbers this month. On the day of the mention, Financial Pupil got almost 200 visitors! Crazy, I know.

Plans for Next Month

In the month of February I have a few key things that I want to highlight:

  • Continue publishing twice a week
  • Keep pushing out content on TikTok
  • Partnered with Spondulics TV
  • Doing a few Instagram collabs

Thank You!
